William Maidment is an associate in Gowling WLG's Toronto office.
Will carries on a general litigation practice with an emphasis on corporate-commercial disputes. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, he practised as an associate at a leading litigation boutique and gained experience in commercial, class action, and competition matters.
Will received his JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2021, achieving distinction standing after his first year. Will’s deep involvement in mooting culminated in his participation in the 2019 Grand Moot, where he argued the constitutional dimensions of Canada’s solitary confinement regime before a panel that included the Chief Justice of Canada.
Before law school, Will completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy at Queen’s University.
