GTCR sells Fundtech in US$1.25 billion cross-border transaction

On April 30, 2015, Fundtech, a leading global provider of global payments and transaction banking software and a portfolio company of private equity firm GTCR, was acquired by DH Corporation (TSX: DH) for cash consideration of approximately $1.25 billion.

Headquartered in New York, Fundtech provides mission-critical software that facilitates payment processing, cash management, and financial messaging products for financial institutions and corporate customers.

The firm was Canadian counsel to Fundtech in this transaction with a team that included Paul Harricks, Kathleen Ritchie, Vanessa Grant and Faran Umar-Khitab (corporate/M&A), Paul Carenza (tax), Lilly Wong (financial services) and Ian Macdonald (competition).
