With appearances in landmark cases before the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal and Tax Court of Canada, Jamie has emerged as one of the country’s leading Indigenous lawyers. In addition to her litigation experience, she is a noted authority on drafting, structuring and amending First Nations trusts, and acts as counsel on First Nations tax matters, general construction matters and disputes, and regulatory and environmental issues.

Jaimie is a member of and grew up in Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation, and was the first Indigenous woman admitted into the Gowling WLG partnership.

Gowling WLG’s Indigenous Law Group has served as counsel to Canada’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples — as well as industry and governments clients working with Indigenous communities — for more than half a century. In that time, the firm has been instrumental in precedent-setting resource development projects, self-government agreements and Supreme Court cases.
