Gowling WLG is excited to announce the launch of Diversonomics, a new podcast that takes an in-depth look at various initiatives that are fostering and promoting diversity in the global legal industry.

Hosted by Gowling WLG associates Roberto Aburto and Sarah Willis, and produced by Jessica Bowman, the six-episode series features discussions with leaders at the forefront of an international push to make the legal profession - and the broader business community - more welcoming, inclusive and diverse. Notable guests include:

  • Lorna Gavin, Gowling WLG U.K.'s head of corporate responsibility
  • Mark Greenburgh, Gowling WLG partner and U.K. diversity leader
  • Neena Gupta, Gowling WLG partner and co-chair of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Council
  • Carolyn Lawrence, leader of gender diversity and inclusion at Deloitte Canada

"At Gowling WLG, championing diversity is more than just good business practice - it's essential to the success of our firm," said Peter Lukasiewicz, CEO of Gowling WLG Canada and chair of the firm's Canadian Diversity and Inclusion Council.

"In recent years, we've implemented a number of strategies and programs designed to help celebrate our diversity and underpin our ambition to become a more inclusive and collaborative place to work. Diversonomics is our way of sharing those initiatives - along with other ideas, challenges, and opportunities - with our clients, colleagues and the legal industry at large."

Diversonomics can be found on iTunes, as well as on GowlingWLG.com. New episodes in the series will be released every Wednesday until the series concludes on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. A second series is expected to launch in early 2017.

Diversity and inclusion are an integral part of Gowling WLG's culture. Guided by a Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, the firm is a proud member of the Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network, and was the first Canadian law firm to receive the Starbucks International Excellence in Diversity Award. Gowling WLG has also been ranked among the Best Employers in Canada since 2010, and has been recognized as one of the U.K.'s Best Workplaces since the list's inception in 2001.
