Mark J. Sprigings

Mark Sprigings is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. He is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario, and a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States.

Mark focuses on patent and industrial design procurement, with an emphasis on drafting and strategic advice for companies ranging from startups to large corporations and universities. He is also a co-chair of the Ottawa office's Tech Group.

His experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical and mechanical engineering fields includes computer software, hardware, telecommunications networking, wireless access and infrastructure, power systems, control systems, operating systems, encryption, optics, intelligent vehicle technologies, telematics, image processing, audio processing, environmental control, optimization technology for reciprocating machinery, LED systems, building and construction materials, agricultural equipment, automotive equipment, firefighting equipment and business methods.

Previously, Mark worked as an engineer for high technology companies.
