The Gowling WLG Ottawa office is currently seeking a lawyer to work within its Medical Defence & Health Law group for a 12 month contract with the possibility of a permanent position. The Medical Defence & Health Law group acts as counsel on various matters in support of the defence of medical professionals.
As the successful candidate, you will work in a team environment providing legal advice, guidance and representation in relation to various medical-legal matters. Your responsibilities will include providing management and strategic direction on matters relating to the defence of medical professionals in medical negligence litigation and various administrative proceedings (including medical regulatory and hospital matters).
The successful candidate will have a two to five years of related experience. A background in litigation is an asset. Bilingualism is a requirement.
