Seminar

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month which is an internationally recognized campaign to help inform the public the importance of cyber security and data protection.

Join Gowling WLG on October 8 2019 as we discuss the implications that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) can have on Canadian businesses as well as recent developments in Canada's privacy laws. We will be joined by two data protection specialists from our UK offices that will:

  • provide insights and practical examples of the application of GDPR to organisations in non-EU countries
  • offer guidance on processing EU data and discuss how to minimise risks associated with GDPR
  • recent regulatory actions and breaches under the GDPR
  • highlight how future developments may impact the data protection legal landscape in both Canada and the EU, as the legal regimes and enforcement become increasingly restrictive.

Agenda

  • 07:30 - Registration and breakfast
  • 08:30 - Presentations
  • 10:15 - Q&A
