The potential for a cyber attack is an ongoing concern for all companies. Despite implementing the strictest measures, an organization can still find itself the victim of a security breach. As a high-level leader or director, you need to know what steps to take after a suspected or actual attack or breach, the role of counsel and other expert service providers, and the best approach to obtain or contract for these external services and to manage crisis communications.

Join us for a webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon EDT to learn more about the heightened risks of, and appropriate responses to and management of, cyber breaches and attacks as well as potential litigation arising from such breaches or attacks. Professionals from Accenture and Gowling WLG will co-host this webinar that examines the technical and legal considerations involved in a cyber security incident.

Our panelists will discuss:

  • Trends in cyber attacks - with reference to Accenture's Threatscape report
  • Incident protocols including a technical investigation, notification requirements and crisis communications
  • The role of the security firm in investigating, containing and remediating the breach
  • The role of legal counsel, including incidents in multiple jurisdictions, preparation for possible litigation, class actions implications and the regulatory landscape
  • Ways to contract for external services to maintain legal privilege

Accenture speakers

  • Yaz Alattia, Managing Director – Canada Lead, Accenture Security

  • Annette Honan, Senior Manager – Global Legal Lead, Accenture Security

  • Mark Raeburn, Managing Director - Global Cyber Investigation Forensics & Response Lead, Accenture Security
