Canadian emissions regulations are currently aligned with American standards; and following its departure from the European Union (EU), which has regulated automotive emissions since 2009, the UK has introduced UK-specific emissions rules, albeit based on the EU system.

So, what does this mean when it comes to regulating vehicle emissions in multiple jurisdictions? On March 11, join Gowling WLG's Adam Chamberlain, Ben Stansfield and Alex Sadvari as they examine the emissions regulatory regimes in Canada, the EU and the UK, and highlight how the current rules operate. They will share practical measures that manufacturers can implement to secure compliance urgently, review the current requirements as well as Canadian inspections and enforcement, and briefly touch on possible changes to emissions standards post U.S. election.
