ThinkHouse Brands, Advertising & Design Workshop - London

Our ThinkHouse Brands, Advertising and Designs seminars are developed specifically for in-house counsel, to provide practical solutions and the latest guidance on issues affecting brand owners of all shapes and sizes. Join us for a morning of legal updates and training, as well as an opportunity to network with existing and new in-house contacts.

Metaverse and Brands: The (Virtual) Reality

Charlie Bond and Jon Flower will discuss the basics of what, if anything, the Metaverse actually is, together with its benefits, pitfalls and key issues brand owners need to be thinking about as the area develops.

International Issues

Dan Smith will discuss how the EU's new Digital Services Act will impact UK based brand owners when it comes into force.

Jasmine Lalli will cover two issues from a Brexit lens – exhaustion rights in the UK and the impact on UK/EU design law. She will explain what is exhaustion; exhaustion for trademark and copyright holders specifically; and the impact of Brexit on exhaustion. She will also discuss the issue of conflicting disclosure requirements for UK design rights when designers are seeking both UK and EU design protection.

James Stunt will discuss how international sanctions are impacting brand owners. He will cover maintaining IP rights in Russia in the context of increased UK and EU sanctions; Russian countermeasures; and what comes next for brand owners.

FAQ workshop

In this interactive workshop we will cover frequently asked questions and topical case studies that are relevant to many different brand owners. This session will provide an opportunity to discuss various brand, advertising and design related topics with your peers, sharing experiences, challenges and how you might approach finding practical solutions.
