Thomas J. Timmins appointed chair of Canadian Solar Industries Association

Gowling WLG is pleased to announce that Thomas J. Timmins, Toronto partner and leader of the firm’s Renewable Energy Group, has been appointed chair of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA).

In his role, Timmins will lead CanSIA’s nine-member board of directors in its mission of promoting Canada’s solar industry and championing the unique economic, environmental and technological benefits of solar energy across the country.

Widely recognized as one of Canada’s top energy, infrastructure and commercial lawyers, Timmins focuses his practice on corporate, commercial and transactional law across a number of sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, tech and transnational mergers and acquisitions.

His experience in delivering innovative, effective solutions to complex energy challenges for industry stakeholders makes him a strong leader and a powerful advocate as chair for the CanSIA.

Over the course of his career, Timmins has led several of Gowling WLG’s most significant power sector transactions serving a wide range of Canadian and foreign corporations, investment dealers, banks, government agencies and financial institutions around the world.
