On January 21, 2019, Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited ("Cooper") announced that it had acquired Star Rentals Ltd. In British Columbia, consistent with its pan-Canadian strategic growth plan.

Star Rentals is the largest independent equipment rental company in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia with locations in each of White Rock, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Burnaby and Maple Ridge.

Cooper is the leading independent Canadian full-service construction equipment rental company, servicing contractors and the infrastructure industry throughout Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and now British Columbia.
