Our Banking and Finance team advised Sanctuary Capital plc on its inaugural issuance under its £2.5 billion euro medium term note (EMTN) Programme.
The £350 million sustainability linked note, which has a nine-year tenor, is Sanctuary’s first issuance since launching its EMTN Programme and Sustainable Finance Framework just over a year ago.
Sanctuary manage 125,000 homes across England and Scotland and is rated as an A2 stable and A stable by credit rating agencies Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s respectively, with G1 governance, V2 viability and C1 consumer ratings from the Regulator of Social Housing.
Our team was led by Legal Director Angela Rawlins, with support from Principal Associate Sarina Mann, Associate Sarah Lambert and Capital Markets Partner John Reed.
Angela Rawlins said: “We were pleased to advise Sanctuary on this significant inaugural issuance under its EMTN Programme. This transaction reflects Sanctuary’s strong market standing and will provide essential funds for its long-term strategic objectives.”
Luigi Belli, Director – Treasury Services, said: “This successful issuance is an important step in delivering our long-term funding strategy. It demonstrates the confidence investors have in Sanctuary as an organisation, further strengthens our financial position and supports our commitment to investing in our current homes, our services and the development of much needed new affordable housing in line with our values and long-term strategic objectives.
"Thank you to the Banking & Finance team for their excellent work supporting Sanctuary on this transaction."
