Gowling WLG named “Canadian Firm of the Year” at Managing IP’s North America Awards

18 March 2016

Managing IP, one of the world’s foremost intellectual property publications, has named Gowling WLG “Canadian Firm of the Year” in both the patent, non-contentious and trademark, non-contentious categories. The firm also received “firm of the year” nominations in two other categories: patent contentious and trademark contentious.

Accepted by partner James Longwell at a ceremony last night in Washington, D.C., the awards recognize the depth of expertise and diversity of experience of Gowling WLG’s Canadian IP practice. The accolades continue a trend of recent success for the firm, which, in addition to earning top-tier recognition in Managing IP’s “IP Stars” patent and trademark rankings, was also named “Firm of the Year” for Russia at Managing IP’s Global Awards earlier this month.

“Year after year, our IP lawyers and agents succeed in delivering innovative solutions and positive outcomes to companies around the world,” said Robert MacDonald, co-leader of the firm’s IP Group. “To have our work recognized through these awards is both a tremendous honour and a strong testament to our commitment to achieving outstanding results for our clients in Canada and abroad.”

For more than 125 years, Gowling WLG has been helping the world’s top organizations maximize their intellectual property assets and protect what makes them unique. With a leading global network of award-winning IP professionals, the firm’s IP Group offers unmatched expertise in patents, trademarks, brands, designs, copyright, advertising, IP litigation and more — in Canada and around the world.
