Gowling WLG has been recognised for its market-leading legal expertise in the Chambers & Partners UK 2024 rankings.
Based on independent research, client and peer feedback, Chambers & Partners recognises firms for technical legal ability and team depth, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, and value for money.
The firm has secured leading rankings in the UK, London, West Midlands and Yorkshire across its range of services and sectors, including Real Estate, Financial Institutions & Services, Corporate & Commercial, Government & Public Sector, and Technology.
In total, Gowling WLG achieved 37 leading rankings this year, supporting the firm's legal market credentials as an advisor to clients in the UK and beyond. The latest results comprise nine prestigious 'Band 1' rankings, including 'stand-alone' top banding for Construction and Intellectual Property, as well as marked success for Corporate, Energy & Natural Resources, Employment, Life Sciences, Pensions, Planning and Real Estate.
At a practice level, the firm's market-topping credentials in the UK are strengthened having sustained leading rankings across a wide range of key areas – standing firm in as many as 31 practice areas this year. We also celebrate new rankings successes with first-time recognition for our 'Construction: Contentious (London)' practice, while climbing up the rankings for 'Investment Funds: Closed-ended Listed Funds (UK-Wide)', Media & Entertainment: Advertising & Marketing (UK-Wide)', and 'Real Estate (Yorkshire)'.
Recognising the firm's talent at all levels, our lawyers also scooped a total 74 individual rankings for their exceptional client service. Of these, 15 lawyers feature across a total 16 rankings in the elite "Band 1", "Eminent Practitioner", "Senior Statesperson", and "Star Individuals" lists of the top ranked individuals in each practice area.
An additional three lawyers are named in the "Up and Coming" list, with three lawyers featured in the "Star Associates" and "Associates to Watch" lists. Overall, the firm recorded seven new lawyer inclusions, with a further 11 lawyers achieving upward ranking moves this year.
The latest rankings follow top tier results in The Legal 500 UK 2024, in which the firm recorded 62 practice area rankings, and 79 individual accolades across London, the West Midlands and Yorkshire.
