Gowling WLG has picked up two accolades at the Planning Awards 2023, receiving the award for planning for affordable housing and Editor's Award.

The award for planning for affordable housing was collected with Westminster City Council for the Ebury Bridge Estate Renewal Project, which also picked up the Editor's Award, given to the most outstanding of all the winning schemes.

The Ebury Bridge Estate Renewal Project forms a key part of Westminster City Council's plans to develop more council homes for social rent. The project, which received hybrid permission in 2021 and is now under construction, aims to provide 781 new homes, with the majority of the affordable homes being for social rent.

The 2023 Planning Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday 8 June 2023 at the prestigious IET Savoy Place, London in what was the ninth edition of the awards. The awards showcased the outstanding work across the planning and placemaking sectors and recognised excellence in planning and associated placemaking disciplines, including heritage conservation, urban design, economic development, partnership working, environmental consultancy, housing and law.

Commenting on the award wins, Vicky Fowler, head of planning at Gowling WLG, said: "We are delighted to have collected these awards which recognise our hard work and commitment for delivering the best outcome for our clients and the wider community. To be recognised against such esteemed competition is hugely rewarding as is working on such a great regeneration project. It is great to have the strength of our work in this area recognised."
