International law firm Gowling WLG has appointed Matthew Harvey as a partner in its banking and finance team in London. He joins the firm from Dentons where he has been a partner since 2000.
Matthew has over 20 years' experience acting for corporates, banks and finance companies on structured, asset and export finance transactions. He handles various asset based structures, including cross-border, export credit and off-balance sheet transactions.
He has a particular focus on equipment leasing and the financing of corporate aircraft and helicopters including vendor finance, receivables finance and the sale of leasing companies and lease portfolios.
At Gowling WLG, Matthew will join the Banking & Finance team which includes 11 partners and is headed by Kirsty Barnes. He will also join a number of sector teams within the firm including aerospace, aviation and defence, automotive and financial institutions.

Prior to joining Dentons in 1994, Matthew spent time working in-house. He is ranked as a leading lawyer in Chambers for asset finance: aviation and named in The Legal 500 for asset finance and leasing.
Gowling WLG was formed on 22 February through the combination of Gowlings and Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co. Matthew's appointment to the firm's corporate, finance and private capital group follows that of Dr Andreas Woelfle who joined the Munich office as a partner leading the firm's corporate offering in Germany.
