Gowling WLG partner James Eamon, QC, named to Alberta Court of Queen's Bench

Eamon's litigation practice has focused on commercial litigation, public and administrative law, insurance, and professional liability. His work has emphasized corporate, securities and commercial matters, directors' and officers' responsibilities, and professional negligence and discipline. He has also acted as a mediator and arbitrator in civil disputes.

"This appointment speaks volumes about the reputation that Jim has earned over the years as an advocate, an intellect and a contributor to both the legal community and the community at large," said Regina Corrigan, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Calgary office. Eamon has earned consistent recognition in a number of prestigious legal publications, including The Best Lawyers in Canada, the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Benchmark Canada.

A past President and Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta, Eamon has served extensively on numerous law society committees and task forces. He has also been a member of Alberta's Rules of Court Committee and a board member of the Alberta Law Reform Institute and the Legal Education Society of Alberta.
