Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome leading litigator Serge Amar as a litigation partner in its Montréal office.
Amar has more than 30 years’ experience practising in civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on internal theft, investigations, privacy and fraud. His practise also covers class actions and professional liability, as well as matters related to real estate, construction and infrastructure, tax and environmental law.
“Serge comes to us with a dynamic litigation practice and specialized expertise that expands the suite of advocacy services we offer to our clients — both in Québec and across the firm,” said Peter Lukasiewicz, CEO of Gowling WLG Canada. “His unique experience in the areas of internal theft, investigations and fraud will assist our clients in quickly resolving difficult issues and achieving the best possible solutions to their unforeseen challenges.”
Amar is frequently called upon to provide training on various topics and is also a frequent speaker before the Fiscal and Financial Planning Association and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals.
“I’m excited to join Gowling WLG and start the next phase of my career,” said Amar. “The firm’s litigation team is recognized as one of the top tier groups in the country, and I’m eager to be part of a group of creative professionals focused on winning cases and finding practical solutions for our private and public sector clients.”
