Gowling WLG welcomes new real estate partner in Paris
International law firm Gowling WLG is pleased to announce the arrival of Sylvain Canard-Volland as a partner in its real estate practice. This strategic arrival is a further step in the growth of Gowling WLG's Paris office.
Sylvain Canard-Volland advises French and international investors and property companies on all aspects of their real estate transactions in France, as well as in a pan-European context. He advises on complex transactions involving the acquisition or disposal of properties or property companies, on the negotiation or renegotiation of leases (on behalf of owners and tenants), as well as on construction and real estate litigation.
Sylvain said: "Our international board has identified the real estate sector as a priority for the global firm. I am delighted to join a firm with a strong desire to strengthen the synergies between the different departments in Paris, but also internationally, and whose objective is to make Gowling WLG a major player in this practice in Paris once again."
Sylvain's role will be to boost Gowling WLG's offering in real estate law, a sector that has always been part of the firm's DNA. His ambition is to provide clients with an offer that is fully integrated with all of the services provided by the firm, particularly in coordination with the Financing department headed by Danhoe Reddy-Girard and Antoine Pampouille in Paris and with the UK teams headed by Richard Bate, Head of Real Estate and Sally Pinkerton, Head of International Real Estate.
Frédéric Dereux, Managing Partner of the Paris office, said: "We had been looking for the right partner to lead our real estate department, and Sylvain's vision and notably entrepreneurial approach stood him apart. His arrival supports the global growth of our office, and we look forward to his work with the teams in Paris, the United Kingdom and in Canada."
