Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome Megan Cornell to its national Corporate Group as a partner based in the firm's Ottawa office.

With 20 years of experience advising businesses on commercial and transactional matters, Megan focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, governance, commercial agreements, joint ventures and other commercial relationships, public and private financings, and privacy and employment issues.

Megan works with large public companies, small local businesses, as well as foreign-owned companies with Canadian subsidiaries. Her clients operate in various industries, such as technology, financial services, retail and manufacturing.

"We are excited to have Megan join us," said Lorraine Mastersmith, head of the Business Law Department in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. "Her business acumen and passion for process optimization will prove invaluable to clients who look to us to efficiently help them grow their business and seize new strategic opportunities."

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Megan was the founder and operator of a boutique business law firm in Ottawa.
