Gowling WLG strengthens global Tech sector team with UK Head of Tech Venture Capital appointment
International law firm Gowling WLG has strengthened its global Tech sector team with the appointment of Rebecca Burford as partner and UK Head of Tech Venture Capital.
Rebecca is an experienced corporate partner specialising in venture capital and private equity investments, as well as early stage and growth capital investments, management buyouts (MBOs) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She has a particular focus in the technology and digital space, including software and video gaming.
She joins the firm from Charles Russell Speechlys, where she was a partner, and will be based at Gowling WLG's London office.
Clients she has advised include Oakfield Capital, Key Capital Partners and New York based, Lytical Ventures, (a venture capital firm investing in cyber security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence), as well as advising UK companies on inward investments by the likes of US-based Naples Technology Ventures, Unilever Ventures, Foresight Private Equity, Queens Park Equity, Mercia Private Equity and Rockpool Investments.
Rebecca is passionate about improving equity and diversity in the legal profession and is an appointment member of the Law Society's Ethnic Solicitors Network committee.
