Paul Harricks rejoins Gowling WLG's Energy team in Toronto

Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome back Paul Harricks to its Toronto office as counsel in the firm's Energy Group. Paul's corporate practice focuses on the energy, nuclear and infrastructure sectors, where he has played a crucial role in various aspects of the energy transition, both domestically and globally.

Most recently, Paul served as the executive vice-president & chief legal officer of Hydro One Limited, Ontario's largest electric utility. As a key member of the executive leadership team, Paul was responsible for overseeing the company's legal, regulatory, governance, ethics and compliance functions.

Before joining Hydro One, Paul was a partner at Gowling WLG and served as a former leader of the firm's Energy and Infrastructure groups. He has extensive experience in private and public M&A transactions across various sectors, notably the power sector. Paul is well versed in the formation and governance of infrastructure funds, downstream investments in public-private partnerships, debt capital market transactions in electricity distribution, and nuclear new-build and refurbishment projects.

Outside of his legal career, Paul has served on a range of boards of public and private companies, not-for-profits and charities. He was the inaugural chair and remains a member of the Toronto Region Board of Trade's Energy Transition Committee. He was also a past director of the Association of Power Producers of Ontario.
