Aaron Friesen-Kobayashi

Aaron Friesen-Kobayashi is an associate in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Business Law Group. Aaron's practice focuses commercial, corporate, and technology law.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Aaron worked as associate counsel with the legal department of Ontario Power Generation (OPG). During his time at OPG, he advised clients on commercial, corporate, procurement, and real estate law. Aaron negotiated and advised OPG on a variety of commercial transactions, including purchases of nuclear equipment and services. He also advised on all technology-related commercial transactions for OPG.

In addition to advising OPG, Aaron also advised its subsidiaries and partnerships on corporate matters to ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.

Aaron completed his legal studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he was awarded the Student Honour Award for significant contribution to the community at Osgoode Hall. Prior to entering law school, Aaron worked in public policy-focused roles within several federal government departments including Public Safety Canada, Shared Services Canada, and FedDev Ontario.
