Adam Lewinberg

Adam Lewinberg brings a depth of experience to help clients in the areas of public-private partnerships, procurement, construction and asset finance, with a focus on technology and innovation. Adam leverages his broad experience in infrastructure and his previous experience as a technologist in the banking and telecommunications sectors to assist clients looking for creative solutions to difficult problems.

Adam’s practice focuses on complex procurements, large multifaceted construction projects and structured finance, including public private partnership/alternative finance projects (P3/AFP) and large complex linear construction. He works across asset classes, having worked on projects in the transportation, social infrastructure and energy sectors, including roads, tunnels, bridges, light rail, rail, district energy, energy distribution, hospitals, libraries, courthouses, roads and data centres and across geographies, having worked in jurisdictions across Canada and the United States, including Northern Canada and other remote areas.

In addition to his transactional practice, Adam advises companies such as Aecon, ACS, EllisDon, SNC, Johnson Controls and Dexterra on infrastructure projects in operation, providing strategic advice in the negotiation of disputes with project authorities and between design-builders and operators.

Adam is recognized as a Leading Individual in The Legal 500 in the area of Infrastructure.

His P3/AFP experience in Canada and the US includes:

  • Advising on the design, build and finance of some of Canada’s largest infrastructure projects including the Pattullo Bridge and Broadway Subway projects
  • Advising on the sale of equity interests in projects including William Osler Health System, Sault Area Hospital, Royal Ottawa Hospital, Forensics Services and Coroners Complex, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
  • Advising an equity investor, design-build contractor partner and facilities maintenance company partner on the procurement, structuring and successful closing of the Saskatchewan North Battleford project
  • Advising a construction contractor, operator and project developer on multiple student housing projects in the United States
  • Advising an equity investor, design-build contractor and facilities maintenance company partner on the procurement, structuring and successful closing of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Forensics Services and Coroners Complex
  • Advising an equity investor, design-build contractor and facilities maintenance company on the procurement and structuring of a significant number of other projects in the social infrastructure and transportation sectors
