Bio
Aisling is an experienced litigator with a background in dealing with fraud and insolvency related disputes and investigations. She has acted for government departments, local authorities, insolvency practitioners and corporate clients. Aisling recently returned from secondment to UKHSA (formally NHS Test & Trace) where she headed up a newly formed team of lawyers dealing with a variety of contractual disputes and litigation arising out of the pandemic.
Aisling has been regularly instructed by the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Industrial Strategy (and its predecessor) over the past eight years and has extensive general investigation and litigation experience, as well as significant trial experience.
Aisling is also a member of Gowlings Public Inquiries and Investigations team and has extensive experience of working alongside government departments. She plays a central role in supporting core participants and others throughout all stages of major public inquiries, providing comprehensive assistance including managing Rule 9 processes, disclosure and evidence review. In addition to public inquiries, Ais has experience of supporting staff in related work, such as inquiries and investigations outside statutory public inquiries.
Aisling’s most recent work involves project management, running large teams of lawyers and paralegals analysing large volumes of documentary material, liaising with inquiry teams and counsel, drafting reports, and ensuring that the client’s interests are effectively represented in a complex and high-profile investigatory context. Ais brings a meticulous and methodical approach to managing sensitive material and navigating the procedural and reputational challenges that inquiries and investigations present.. Ais is a real team player, bringing a pragmatic and assured approach to complex investigatory matters, underpinned by her strong organisational and analytical skills.
Aisling is passionate about her work and has a particular focus on public interest cases. She builds strong and lasting relationships with clients and always promotes the progression of matters in a sensible and pragmatic manner.
