Alice Devenuto

Alice is an Associate in the Property Litigation team. She has extensive litigation experience, having been involved in a number of arbitrations and court disputes. She has been involved in advising clients throughout settlement negotiations and during hearing and has experience in recommending which is the course of action most suitable to the client's circumstances.

Experience​

Arbitration

  • Representing a PE firm in proceedings against an international cinema operator regarding disputed rent amounts including advising on the impact of ongoing US Ch.11 proceedings, drafting arbitrator directions and engaging in WP negotiations.
  • Representing a transport authority in arbitration proceedings against two London local councils on application of the meaning of 'highway' following proceedings in the Supreme Court, including drafting the notice to concur in the appointment of arbitrator, instructing counsel, assisting in disclosure, drafting.

High Court

  • Representing a construction company in a claim brought by a housing developer for breach of works obligations under a Sale Contract, including managing pre-trial disclosure, engaging counsel, advising on questions of assignment and enforceability, issuing a successful strike-out application in relation to part of the claim.
  • Representing a mining conglomerate in proceedings against developers of the surface land for trespass including drafting the letter before action, requesting pre-action disclosure and assisting in settlement negotiations.

First-Tier Tribunal

  • Representing a telecommunications operator in a dispute involving fifteen sites to obtain new leases from site owners, including case managing the claims, drafting particulars of claim, instructing counsel and preparing for three preliminary issues hearings, two appeals and the final trial.

Other

  • Managing real estate assets, including disputes arising in relation to insolvencies, lease renewals, nuisance, restrictive covenants and contractual breaches.
