Allysa Ciancio

Allysa Ciancio is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office. She also completed her summering term with Gowling WLG. She is excited to be rejoining the firm for a rotational articling term, where she will gain experience in commercial, recovery services, advocacy, real estate and intellectual property law.

Allysa obtained her JD at Queen's University, where she was awarded with the course prize in both Wills & Estates, and Racism & Legal Culture. Throughout her studies, Allysa held two positions at the Queen's Elder Law Clinic as a student caseworker and as a student mentor. She gained valuable experience listening to and finding creative solutions for client issues, working to meet urgent deadlines, and practicing in a community-based legal clinic.

Using her skills and experience from her time as a personal support worker, Allysa always strives to meet the needs of her clients. She prides herself on being detail oriented and employing active listening to anticipate future needs while solving current problems.

Outside of the practice of law, Allysa is proud to sit on both the provincial board and international ethics panel for the sport of jump rope. After taking the International Olympic Committee's Safeguarding Officer in Sport Certificate, she works in both organizations to ensure the safety of all participants through policy, in organizational practice, and the provision of in-person advocacy and support.
