Amy Khodabendehloo helps clients to resolve disputes in a commercial and cost-efficient manner through settlement, alternative dispute resolution and court litigation. She is an effective communicator and strives to deliver tailored advice in a clear and comprehensive way.
Having spent six months on secondment with a major UK energy supplier, Amy fully understands the concerns and expectations of clients. She has experience of High Court litigation, international arbitration and group litigation, as well as smaller County Court actions. Amy also undertakes contract reviews and advises clients on the merits of their contractual position pre-action, working to achieve settlements where appropriate.
Amy has a particular interest in litigation funding and advises clients on the alternative funding arrangements available to them, in order to make a well-informed decision as to the profitability of pursuing litigation and/or arbitration. She has advised pension funds and other institutional investors on the funding packages offered by different claimant groups in large shareholder actions being pursued in the UK, German and Japan.
Amy's clients include consultancy and project management companies, engineering companies, surveyors, pensions schemes and other institutional investors, automotive clients, newspaper and magazine wholesalers and insurers. She acts for both claimants and defendants, and has worked on a variety of legal disputes for a range of UK and international clients.
Disagreements and disputes are inevitable in a business context, and Amy's clients trust her to resolve those disputes with minimal disruption to their business, from both a time management and cost perspective. Amy is committed to providing a qualityservice and strives to build an understanding of each client's business, allowing her to pursue the most effect strategy in each case. She has achieved a "ONE Award", a prize awarded internally as recognition of somebody who has performed well above expectations on a particular job and has gone the extra mile for their clients.
Outside of work, Amy attends the Birmingham Legal Advice Clinic, providing free advice to individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
