Andrea Zemenides

Andrea Zemenides is a London based senior associate who advises on the finance aspects of complex structured and secured real estate finance transactions in the UK and in Europe.

Andrea has acted for a range of lenders and borrowers on both bilateral and syndicated facilities. She has worked with a range of clients, including banks, financial institutions and corporate borrowers advising in particular on investment and development facilities and portfolio transactions. Andrea has particular experience working on transactions involving operational real estate assets, including acquisitions of large care home portfolios, purpose-built student accommodation and hotels. Andrea is a member of the firm's hotel practice and specialises in hotel acquisitions and financings.

Andrea has also spent time on a legal secondment, advising the general real estate, hotels and housing teams at HSBC UK Bank plc.

  • A UK clearing bank on the refinancing of a luxury hotel in London owned by a family trust and operated via a UK operating vehicle and subject to a franchise agreement with a major US brand.
  • A UK clearing bank on the acquisition and development funding of a luxury hotel in the greenbelt operating under an owner-managed structure to benefit from a Starwood franchise flag.
  • A UK clearing bank on the refinancing of loan facilities of £175m secured on hotels in London and Manchester.
  • A UK clearing bank on the refinance of the Queens Gate Hotel in Kensington with Grecian Hotels.
  • A major clearing bank on a cross-jurisdictional £81.5m portfolio refinancing and on c£40m pre-development facilities.
  • Quadrant Real Estate Advisors in relation to a £37.5m mezzanine facility for financing or refinancing the acquisition of properties in Bristol and Fife.
  • Santander and RBS on a £22m club facility for the acquisition by 90 North of a portfolio of care homes.
  • A German bank on several prime City of London financings.
  • A real estate debt fund on a loan facility to finance the share acquisition of Wise Living Homes, the acquisition of further properties and the construction of residential housing.

Representative deals acting for borrowers:

  • Formation Capital LLC on the acquisition of the Southern Cross/NHP Group, on £100m acquisition facilities for Meridian Healthcare Group, and a £172m sale and leaseback financing with a US REIT.
  • A Jersey listed investment fund on £150m refinancing and warehousing facilities (with a £75m accordion) from The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and ING Bank N.V., London Branch.
  • London & Cambridge Properties on several investment and development facilities in excess of £120m with various lenders.
  • A Singaporean investor, on the £114m financing of a 90,000 sq ft office building in central London.
  • GCP Student Living plc on facilities for the acquisition of newly built student accommodation.
  • Haulfryn Group (a major leisure operator and owner) on the refinancing of £50m debt.
