Angela Danko

Angela Danko is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.

She recently completed her second year of studies at Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. Angela has been involved in a number of extracurricular activities during law school. In her first year, Angela conducted research for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association on disability and mental health discrimination in the law. In her second year, she volunteered for the Nova Scotia Labour Board where she provided legal information to self-represented litigants. Angela has also sat on the Dalhousie Student Union Appeals Committee where she investigated and rendered decisions on complaints relating to student elections. For the past two years, Angela has worked for the Career Development office where she conducts market research and assists with student recruitment, career panels and resume preparation.

In summer 2017, Angela worked at the Quasi-Judicial Boards under the Law and Legislative Services branch of the City of Calgary.

Prior to law school, Angela obtained a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Psychology from the University of Calgary. While completing her degree, Angela worked as a research assistant in psychosocial oncology focusing primarily on developing educational programming for male cancer patients. She has also worked in fund development and event planning for local non-profit organizations.

Angela is looking forward to working at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic for the first semester of her final year.
