Angelique A. Merakos is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Montréal office, practicing in the firm's Business Law Group.
Her practice focuses on private mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, corporate governance, and general commercial matters. She has worked on numerous complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and other commercial agreements for local and international clients based in Canada, the United States and Europe.
She also advises clients across a range of industries, including manufacturing, biotechnology and tourism sectors.
Angelique holds a bachelor’s degree in civil law (LL.L) from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, where she founded and served as president of the Women in Law Association and was recognized with several awards for academic excellence, including the Justice Karakatsanis Scholarship and the Dean’s Award. Prior to attending law school, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Montreal and conducted clinical research on the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute.
Angelique is fluent in English, French and Greek.
