Barbara Jouffa

Barbara is a leading M&A and Private Equity lawyer on the French market and Co-head of the M&A department of Gowling WLG in Paris. She has over 15 years' experience representing clients in M&A and Private Equity transactions in all industries, notably in the Tech sector and the Cosmetics, the Luxury, the Media and the Food sectors.

Barbara has advised on over a 100 transactions, and on some of the largest and most significant M&A exits on the French market particularly in the Tech sector, including recently the sale by some of the family shareholders and co-founders of Nuxe to Sofina, a Belgian listed family holding company. She was also involved in the sale of Accengage (Europe's largest provider of mobile CRM and push notifications) to Urban Airship Inc. Before joining Gowling WLG, she was notably involved in the acquisition of Luxembourg-based data and advertisement platform Teads by Altice; the sale of the French online restaurant reservation platform, LaFourchette.com, on its acquisition by TripAdvisor; and the sale of Alpha Direct Services, a leading French e-commerce logistics business, to Rakuten.

Barbara is leading both complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions of all sizes (from mid to large cap), as well as Private Equity and venture capital transactions (from early to late stage financings), on behalf of multinational clients, including investment funds, investment banks, entrepreneurs, industrials and listed and non-listed companies. She also assists companies on governance and corporate law issues.

With dual background in law and business school, Barbara has built her expertise around a deal-maker transactional approach.

Her clients highlight her ability to unlock complex situations in very subtle ways and to provide innovative solutions to complex issues.
