Blair Wentworth is an associate in Gowling WLG's Calgary office.
Blair advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities law, shareholder activism and investigations, and ESG (environmental, social and governance) matters. While a summer student at a Calgary oil and gas royalty company, Blair assisted in developing corporate governance policies and reviewing public ESG disclosure. Since joining Gowling WLG, Blair has been involved in brokered and non-brokered private placements, initial public offerings, start-up companies, and corporate governance matters.
Blair is also a member of the firm's Blockchain & Smart Contracts Group, where he advises clients on complex cryptocurrency and blockchain matters, including token and NFT offerings, crypto-asset trading platforms, decentralized finance, and securities law compliance.
Blair represented the University of Calgary in the 2019 Davies Corporate Securities Moot. Upon graduating, he was awarded the Grant McKibben Award, which is presented to a graduating student who epitomizes the energy and spirit of the Calgary law community. Prior to law school, Blair studied economics at Queen's University and played semi-professional hockey in the Western Hockey League. Blair is currently a director of the Calgary Buffaloes Hockey Association.
