Bola Ajayi

Bola Ajayi helps clients to achieve their goals through commercially viable solutions in compliance with competition law. 

She advises clients on EU and UK competition law, particularly on EU and multinational merger control, antitrust, state aid, regulatory and compliance regulatory matters. She recently enhanced her understanding of dealing with competition authorities through a secondment to the Office of Fair Trading (now Competition and Markets Authority) (Mergers Unit).

Bola's leadership talents extend beyond Gowling WLG. She is a Trustee of a charity working with disengaged youths in East London, United Kingdom through providing educational opportunities with the aim of regeneration and getting them back into the society.

Merger control

Acting for Greene King plc in securing Phase I CMA clearance in relation to its $1.2 billion takeover of Spirit plc.

Acting for Allianz AG and Borealis Infrastructure in securing European Commission clearance of their $1.5 billion acquisition of Net4Gas s.r.o.

Acting for Bright Foods Group in relation to multijurisdictional clearances for $1.9 billion acquisition of joint control of Weetabix.

Acting for Vodafone in securing European Commission clearance in relation to its acquisition of Cable & Wireless Worldwide.

Anti-competitive practices

Acting for a global energy company in relation to its world-wide competition compliance audit following the European Commission investigation into suspected infringements of competition law.

Competition litigation

Advising on claims of brought before the High Court of England and Wales following investigations by the European Commission into suspected infringements of competition law, including settlement, successfully defending a strike out/summary judgment application in relation to jurisdiction and applicable law.

Competition / IP interface

Advising a leading contributor of technologies to communications standards in relation to the application of EU competition law.
