Bradley Silver helps clients put together complex real estate deals, particularly those that have a significant financing aspect or are in health & care. He is part of a specialist real estate team with expertise in all aspects of commercial property, and advises on acquisitions, disposals, developments, financings and restructurings.
Bradley is part of the firm's health & care sector group and specialises in real estate work concerning care homes, student accommodation, retirement villages and social housing. For a large care home provider, Bradley has acted on their portfolio for a number of years and assisted on their group re-organisation, refinancing, ground lease transactions, as well as acquiring, managing and disposing of their assets.
Bradley also has expertise in a number of specialisms including in real estate finance (where Bradley acts for lenders and debt funds), advising both lenders and borrowers and working on transactions that sit within the complex crossover of property, corporate and finance. Working on transactions that sit within the complex crossover of property, corporate and finance law means that Bradley has a risk-conscious approach, focusing on producing efficient solutions to high-risk problems for his clients, which in turn enable them to fund projects confidently. The financing of property development occurs across almost any sector, and Bradley is well accustomed to building up strong "trusted advisor" relationships with his clients from all sides of the fence.
Bradley finds working in the area between traditional real estate and finance and health & care very enjoyable. You have to have an adaptable skill set, and be able to see your client's problems from multiple perspectives to be able to put together solutions that work from all sides. We see such a variety of sectors and companies that at any one time he can be working on anything from student accommodation to a military development. Bradley has to be able to put on different hats quickly, while also pulling together the expertise that gained from working across so many different sectors to the benefit of each specific client.
Spending time on secondment with RBS was really useful. Bradley was able to see both how a client, and a major lender, works from the inside out and how they run their business on an everyday basis.
