Chantel Costa

Chantel Costa is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. She completed her Juris Doctor at Western University, where she graduated with honours.

While attending Western law, Chantel held the executive position of VP external for Western Law’s Innovation Association. She was also a host for the Law School Show podcast, contributing episodes on tech. Chantel worked as a research assistant for Professor Bassem Awad, exploring the intellectual property rights of artificial intelligence.

Chantel is the charity partnerships coordinator for MondayGirl, a career platform for professional women. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she co-founded an emergency relief food service that supported Toronto’s low-income seniors and other low-income demographics through collaborative partnerships with non-profits.

Prior to attending law school, Chantel completed her MA at Western University. She also worked at various tech startups in the blockchain industry, including Secure Digital Markets and the Decentralized Artificial Intelligence Alliance.
