Claire Stempien

Claire Stempien assists clients with a variety of intellectual property litigation matters, including copyright, trademark, and patent disputes.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG as an associate, Claire gained experience in commercial and intellectual property litigation at a boutique firm in Vancouver. She has represented clients in breach of confidence and breach of contract matters before the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

During law school, Claire held executive positions in a number of legal clubs, and studied abroad at the University of Helsinki Faculty of Law. Claire also held a supervisory role, acting as student manager at Community Legal Assistance Services For Saskatoon Inner City Inc. ("CLASSIC"), a poverty law clinic in downtown Saskatoon. In that role, she successfully represented clients before administrative boards and the Provincial Court.

Outside of work, Claire is enjoys hiking and freediving.
