Claire Stempien

Claire Stempien joined Gowling WLG as a summer student in 2019 and is currently an articling student at the firm’s Vancouver office. Claire obtained her JD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2020. While in law school, Claire was involved in numerous clubs and extracurricular activities including serving as VP admin for the Corporate Law Club and helping to organize the annual talent show. Claire completed a clinical placement at the Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City Inc. (“CLASSIC”), the summer following her first year. Claire returned as the student manager for the legal clinic during her second year.

In Claire’s final year of her JD, she participated in an exchange program at the University of Helsinki, Finland. 

Prior of law school, Claire obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Minor in Applied Ethics from the University of Victoria. Outside of work, Claire enjoys running, travelling and learning new languages.
