Connia Chen

Connia Chen is a litigation associate lawyer in Gowling WLG's Toronto office.

Connia completed her JD at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law. Her interest in litigation developed in law school, where she participated in the Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin Legal Ethics Moot, arguing on behalf of the Crown on the issue of whether a defence counsel for a criminal proceeding can unilaterally withdraw as counsel.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG as a summer student, Connia worked at a small litigation practice, and participated in cases related to various areas of law including criminal defence, real estate, personal injury and commercial litigation.

Connia received her bachelor of arts from the University of Toronto, majoring in philosophy and ethics, society and law. She participates enthusiastically in her community, and volunteers as a youth tutor and mentor at Pathways to Education in Regent Park.
