Dane Patton is an associate in the Calgary office of Gowling WLG practicing in the areas of financial services, lending, and aviation law.
Dane represents lenders and borrowers in international and domestic financing transactions, with a particular focus on equipment, aviation, and real estate finance. He also maintains a construction practice emphasizing drafting and negotiating construction contracts.
Dane has a significant interest in aviation and is an active private pilot. He is routinely engaged in secured and unsecured aircraft financings, leasing of private and commercial aircraft, and other aviation matters.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Dane spent eight years working in project management and business development for a large multinational construction firm on projects throughout Western Canada, the Maritimes, and the American Gulf Coast.
Dane holds a JD and MBA from the University of Alberta. During his legal studies, he sat on the University Appeal Board and interned with the Canadian Armed Forces Judge Advocate General at 3rd Canadian Division Support Base Edmonton.
Dane serves on the Board of Directors of the Calgary Flying Club and volunteers with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
