Diahanna Ramadhar

Diahanna Ramadhar is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office.

Diahanna was selected for the 2021 Fellowship with the Transnational Law and Justice Network at Windsor Law, through which she currently works for a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Argentina. She spent the previous year in a similar role, conducting bilingual legal research for a human rights organization in Mexico.

Diahanna completed her JD at the University of Windsor. She served as VP of sports for the Windsor Sports and Entertainment Law Society, 2022 representative for the Alternative Dispute Resolution club, and co-president of the Windsor chapter of Innocence Canada. Diahanna also volunteered with Community Legal Aid as a caseworker and student litigator. She also worked to establish a cannabis legal aid clinic to help expedite record suspensions for those convicted of simple possession charges.

Prior to law school, Diahanna received her bachelor of arts in English from Queen's University with a minor in World Languages. She obtained her master of arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Guelph, and completed her dissertation on Caribbean cultural identity while in her home country of Trinidad. She completed an exchange program during each degree. In between both of her degrees, Diahanna spent a year travelling the world and has visited nearly 50 countries to date.

In her spare time, Diahanna enjoys running her independent editing service, longboarding along the Detroit River and watching the Toronto Raptors play basketball.
