Dominic Conte

Dominic Conte is a London-based senior associate specialising in a wide range of planning and infrastructure matters including compulsory purchase orders (CPO) and related work, section 106 agreements, public inquiries and planning-related litigation. Dominic has helped his clients with many types of schemes, from small industrial parks to large Central London mixed-use developments of 1000 homes or more.

Having worked on numerous high value assets, Dominic has a strong portfolio of experience, covering major projects such as the new Shell Centre on the South Bank, and the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station and the surrounding area. He has also taken instruction from major funds, developers and land owners, as well as local authorities and public bodies. This has shaped his ability to successfully manage large projects and advise clients accurately and effectively.

Dominic believes in client care as a core principle of his practice, and is approachable, diligent and driven to achieve the very best for all of his clients. A strong background in entrepreneurship gives him the ability to truly understand his clients and their needs, and provide high quality advice whilst appreciating their commercial realities. Recently, Dominic has become heavily involved in the emerging PropTech scene, adopting and supporting new and innovative solutions in urban planning and planning law.


  • Successfully advising Braeburn Estates (a joint venture between Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar) on the redevelopment of the Shell Centre site on the South Bank, including assisting in carrying out a legal audit of the application documents, the drafting of the Section 106 Agreement and managing the public call-in inquiry.
  • Advising various high profile clients on best practice strategy against Central London community/protest groups such as the Waterloo Community Development Group, and statutory advisory bodies including English Heritage.
  • Supporting the Royal Mail Group on the redevelopment of the Mount Pleasant Mail Centre site in the Boroughs of Camden and Islington.
  • Advising the Waterman Group in relation to various aspects of the Battersea Power Station project, including a full review of the Environmental Statement for the latest phase.
  • Petitioning against the route of the HS2 railway in Parliament on behalf of various corporate clients who have been affected by the government's plans.
