Duncan Snyder is a partner in the corporate group at Gowling WLG and is based in the Waterloo Region office.
Duncan advises clients on transformative business transactions. He also advises on general corporate, commercial, and governance matters. While a strong advocate for his clients’ interests, Duncan always seeks solutions and provides practical advice.
Duncan is highly experienced in mergers and acquisitions. He has acted on transactions across a range of industries – including software, technology, manufacturing, construction and aggregates, professional services, and consumer products. He regularly works with lawyers and clients in other jurisdictions (primarily U.S.-based transactions). He regularly structures transactions to meet the needs of clients - including through the use of amalgamations, equity rollovers, management buyouts, joint ventures, exchangeable shares, and representation and warranty insurance. Duncan is also highly experienced advising entrepreneurs, start-ups and high-growth companies. He provides advice on shareholder agreements, commercial agreements, equity and debt financings, stock options and incentive plans, strategic arrangements, and other corporate, governance and business matters.
Duncan completed his law degree at the University of Toronto. He has an undergraduate degree in economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. Duncan lives in the Waterloo Region, where he is actively involved in many sports programs as a parent, coach and volunteer.
