Emily Thorpe

Emily Thorpe is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office. She joined the firm as a summer student in 2019 and will be clerking in the BC Supreme Court in September 2021.

She completed her Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University after obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Great Distinction from Trinity Western University. During law school, Emily held an elected position with the TRU Society of Law Students, volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada where she assisted the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the White Buffalo Aboriginal and Metis Health Society, and in her final year, participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Competition. She was a Dean’s List recipient and received the Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP prize in Property Law as well as the course prize in Public International law.

Outside of the office, Emily enjoys travelling, reading, running, swimming, and biking.
