Genevieve Simmons

Genevieve Simmons is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office. She is completing her JD at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.

Genevieve recently completed a legal externship with a digital finance startup at the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurship Hatchery. She was also a member of a research and writing team for the Future of Law Lab’s report on the regulation of gamification.

Prior to law school, Genevieve obtained a bachelor of commerce from the University of Victoria. As an undergraduate student, she completed several co-op semesters, notably as a global talent acquisition intern at Western Digital’s office in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

After graduation, Genevieve spent several years working as an associate at Scotiabank within its global operations department in Toronto.

Genevieve will focus her summer in the Business Law Department.
