Hélène D'Iorio

Hélène D'Iorio is a partner in the Montréal office of Gowling WLG, where she heads the office's intellectual property department. She is also a member of the firm's Montréal Office Management Committee.

She specializes in intellectual property litigation, as well as patent and industrial design prosecution, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical matters.

Hélène has leading-edge expertise in the pharmaceutical field and is highly regarded for her proactive approach in securing protection for her clients' innovations and enforcing their rights. Her litigation experience spans the mechanical, chemical and pharmaceutical fields. She advises her clients on international strategy and management of intellectual property portfolios.

She also counsels clients on other intellectual property-related matters, including infringement, freedom to operate and validity opinions. She acts before the Federal Court of Canada. In addition to being a lawyer, she is a registered patent agent in Canada and in the United States.

She practises law in English and French.
