James-C. Tremblay

James-C. Tremblay is an associate in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, where he practises in the Business Law Group.

James’ practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions, venture capital, corporate finance, and private equity. He also advises clients in the technology, entertainment, and life sciences sectors (the latter encompassing medical technology, financial technology, SaaS, blockchain, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, IoT, machine learning, megadata) on their business, financing, and governance issues.

James uses his competencies in a wide range of transactions, including: drafting and negotiating share and asset purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements, and other ancillary agreements, to name a few.

James holds a LLB and MBA from the University of Sherbrooke. He has received numerous awards for his academic excellence and social commitment, including the Dentons Scholarship and the Richard-Crépeau Scholarship, among others.

During his university years, he was active in the community through his involvement in various extracurricular organizations, including Jeunesse Enrichie, a non-profit organization aimed at the financial education of high school students, and the Clinique juridique entrepreneuriale, an organization aimed at providing legal information to entrepreneurs.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, James practised business law with a major Montréal firm.

James practises law in English and French.
