James Hall

James is an employment lawyer based in the London office with experience of a wide range of employment issues, dedicated to resolving client issues in the workplace. His experience includes advising on a redundancy collective consultation claim, the effect of TUPE transfers following business purchases and service provision changes, senior executive terminations, corporate due diligence, trade union detriment claims and all aspects of human resource.

James has also acted on behalf of senior executives and regularly gets involved with pro-bono projects.


  • Involved in defending a large trade union led redundancy claim for a client in the mining sector dealing with an alleged failure to inform and consult under s.188 TULR(C)A 1992 with the potential for an award in excess of £1million.
  • Successfully negotiated settlements for a client who faced claims for disability discrimination, arrears of pay and wrongful dismissal.
  • Regularly provides advice on a wide range of employment issues on corporate transactions including the application of TUPE, working time regulations, minimum wage and general due diligence.
  • Experience of advising on apprenticeship services contracts, trade union detriment and the application of consultancy agreements.
