Jamie Russell is a Birmingham-based associate in the Commercial, IT and Outsourcing team. He advises clients on a wide range of commercial and IT contracts, including supply of goods and services, outsourcing agreements, distribution agreements and software licences.

Jamie is a Scottish qualified solicitor and worked in-house prior to joining Gowling WLG. Due to his in-house experience, Jamie is able to provide pragmatic and commercially focussed advice to clients.

Outside of the firm, Jamie is a member of the Scottish Football Association's Judicial Panel and he was recently appointed to the Football Association's Legal Panel.


  • Drafting a Direct Supply Agreement to outsource part of a client's manufacturing process to a plant in Southern Europe, including working with Gowling WLG's Competition Law and Antitrust team in relation to the exclusivity provisions.
  • Preparing a new template Distribution Agreement for a global pharmaceutical company.
  • Reviewing and marking-up amendments to a Seed Supply Contract for a client based in the Channel Islands for the purpose of growing and selling cannabis plants for medicinal purposes.
  • Drafting amendments to the standard Terms and Conditions for a major agricultural machinery manufacturer.
  • Reviewing and updating an Intermediary Agreement for a building society, including details of the commission rates and payment processes. This review also involved working with Gowling WLG's Financial Services team in relation to the regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiation, drafting and project management in relation to a business-critical IT network outsourcing agreement for a financial services client.
