Jason Stephens

Before becoming a solicitor, Jason worked as a director of a fashion label and then as an investigations executive at the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), investigating complaints into both broadcast and non-broadcast advertising. He uses this insight and experience to add value to his clients, providing clearance advice in relation to major advertising campaigns and helping to resolve advertising disputes and regulatory investigations quickly and commercially.

Jason undertakes trade mark and design right litigation work, spanning from an appeal to the General Court in Luxembourg against the EUIPO's decision to uphold an opposition, to working diligently to enforce the trade mark and design rights of well-known brands in the UK. He spent six months working in our office in Guangzhou, China, developing his knowledge of international IP disputes and the means to tackle IP infringement effectively in China in particular.

Jason spent seven months on secondment at the Rugby Football Union (RFU). During this time he was exposed to a wide variety of the work that the RFU typically undertakes, spanning across: general commercial work; litigation; intellectual property issues; governance; and advertising and marketing.

Jason regularly lectures on "Fashion Law" at Central St. Martins (part of the University of the Arts, London) and is a non-executive committee member of IPSoc.
